MAHakam chocolATe® is well aware of the importance of environmental empowerment and resource optimisation. While we nurture cocoa farmers in the East Kalimantan region (particularly Laham - Mahakam Ulu regency, and other areas in the future), we are very mindful of the partners and ingredients we choose. Our chocolate consists only of natural ingredients such as Cacao Beans that are cultivated, nurtured, harvested and fermented by our cocoa farmers with our own procedures and checks, and we purchase directly from them. Our chocolate additives consist of Coconut Sugar, Organic Cocoa Butter and (on certain products) medjool dates origin from Palestine.



COCONUT SUGAR
We use coconut sugar made by farmers in the Penajam Paser Utara region of East Kalimantan province, and we ensure by checking that the coconut sugar is made from coconut sap without any non-natural mixtures (such as cooking oil, granulated sugar and so on). Coconut sugar has good health properties, low glycemic levels and importantly this sugar is the result of regional farmers who should be helped to develop.



COCOA BUTTER

The Cocoa Butter that we use is currently certified organic by CAU Bali Jembrana which we use as much as 7 - 10% in our Cocoa Mass mixture.


MEDJOOL DATES

We choose genuine Medjool dates from the land of Palestine because this type of date is very high quality and good for use in chocolate bars, has good properties and high calorific value, suitable for stamina and energy boosters combined with 100% chocolate and indeed this type of date has always grown and developed in Palestine well.


PACKAGING
We also want our business to be in harmony with the environment, and therefore we endeavour to choose our wrapping and packaging options from materials that are environmentally friendly and easily recyclable / biodegradable.
