We started our Bean To Bar business from our pilot project of craft chocolate in 2022, where we got raw material supply from Mahakam Ulu region and tried to see the market response from the process of making chocolate bars. We then perfected this by implementing good procedures from upstream to downstream and benchmark completely, so that we come up with chocolate bars that come from fermented chocolate raw materials and are produced with the best quality for you to enjoy and are selected from ingredients that have healthy quality references.




CHOCOLATE SPLENDOR
In accordance with its history, chocolate used to be a "luxury item", a symbol of prosperity for the people of the meso american region, on that basis we chose the brand name MAHAKAM CHOCOLATEā„¢, where Mahakam is the river where we get and transport the main raw materials we use in east kalimantan, the name is then shortened to MAHATā„¢ where the hopes and expectations of the sentence are Splendor (in sanskrit) and chiseling goodness and glory (in Malay - Indonesian).




HEALTHY AND TASTY CHOCOLATE
We wanted to give a different feel, the results of literature studies and laboratory checks found that cocoa beans have flavanoids that are good for heart health, the results of the study also said that chocolate with cocoa content above 70% is good for heart health. With that in mind, we do benchmarking to create and produce chocolate that is soft in the mouth, still at the maximum value of healthy content and can be enjoyed with delicacy. And it can't happen without using the highest quality cocoa and obsessing over every step of the chocolate making process, from roasting to tempering. We make all our chocolate to our own fine internal standardization guidelines, from bean to bar, so we have complete control over every step of the process.




A RELATIONSHIP BASED ON QUALITY
We purchase directly from farmers, not only to keep farmers as direct beneficiaries of fermented beans, but also to impose standardization and work instructions on them, and we nurture and equip them with the necessary tools and equipment they need. This allows us to build long-term relationships based on trust and quality. By cutting out the middleman, we can also pay our farmers a higher price for high level quality.




MITIGATE THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM
Indonesia has been a cocoa center since the Dutch colonial government era, even in for that in past, 2 superior clones were brought by 2 different nations (Criollo by Spain and Forastero by the Netherlands), but currently Indonesia is ranked 6th as a world cocoa supplier, where previously Indonesia was ranked 3rd, this is because the number of centers is not accompanied by the proliferation of processing centers that are able to absorb raw materials from these centers under any conditions, this is the basis of our enthusiasm for developing this sector, with the hope that our efforts will have a big impact in the future step by step.
